First off, I just want to say that I was sincerely touched by all of the wonderful comments and well-wishes. It was especially nice to hear from so many people who have never commented before. I also want to thank those of you who took the time to post a little something on your own blogs, whether it was a quick note or a full post or, in one case, a heartbreaking video. :)
Anyway, thank you to everyone for understanding.
Now for some business; I am still getting emails and messages on my About.com and Flickr pages regarding Geek Orthodox, asking all kinds of questions, favors and in a couple of cases, threats. So let's just clear some things up, okay?
1. As for why I ended G.O.; I just got tired of it. It ran its course and served the purpose I intended it to serve.
2. As for why I decided to kill it completely; I like finality. I created it, it was awesome, I wiped it clean, that is equally awesome.
3. I will not be passing this blog on to anyone. Period. (I'm still getting a lot of emails about this.)
4. No, you cannot have its URL. Actually, it's not like I copyrighted the name, so if any one of you who emailed me gloating about how you were going to steal the name, go ahead. Knock yourselves out.
5. As for why I deleted all of the posts sooner than I stated; it appears that somebody (or a few people) started hotlinking the posts like crazy (which is stupid, because they were just going to get deleted anyway) or were straight up copying and pasting my posts onto their blogs. Screw that. So I decided to wipe it clean early. Sorry to everyone who just wanted to catch up on reading everything. :(
I guess that's it. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I have gotten some weird emails from people calling me an asshole and whatnot for ending this blog. There are some stupid people out there.
